Wing Chun Kung Fu

The last and most evolved martial art that comes from the Shaolin Temple. Wing Chun is close range fighting system, used to disable opponents quickly. Sifu Kelly has trained in IP Man lineage Wing Chun for over 35 years, winning 1988 U.S. Kuoshu Championships (involving strikes, throws. strikes on ground; Early MMA rules). Sifu Kelly received his Teaching certificate from Grandmaster Cheung in 1994, and has been teaching complete system with wooden man and weapons in Colorado Springs ever since.

Weapons

Sensei Kelly teaches a variety of weapons training. Students progress from empty hand to knives, flexible weapons, sticks, swords, staff, and cane. Weapons disarms for knives, sticks and pistols are also studied with focus on effectiveness for streets! Flexible weapons such as belts, dog leash, chain, rope, scarf can all be used as weapons of opportunity. Training in weapons since 1978. Baguazhang

Baguazhang is health and martial art designed for mobility and whole body power development in soft internal arts tradition. Utilizing walking and turning it is said to resemble a Dragon coiling . It includes strikes, throws, weapons, and Qigong training, especially suited for defending against multiple opponents. It is gaining popularity worldwide for cardiovascular and spinal mobility benefits and was personal protection method of Chinese Emperors, due to its effectiveness. Many today practice to develop fascia, connective tissue, muscular -skeletal and Immunity /endocrine system benefits.

Xing Yi

Five element and 12 Animals kung fu, coiling and rising and falling like wave of water, it develops whole body coordination and linking power of mind intent in present moment to empower body to develop mind, body and Spirit. This is internal health art that balances Qi energy of body via five element medical theory, as well as, formidable self defense skills.

  • Kenneth S. Cohen (Gao Han) ( Xing Yi Quan).

Taiji Quan / Tai Chi (Chen and Yang style)

This art of self care is most widely known in West as slow moving exercise art, which has been proven to reduce blood pressure and improve balance / prevent falling risk. Self care arts students learn health nourishing art : Qigong and solo forms, as well as, push hands and martial arts applications: cane, staff, saber, sword, short stick/ ruler. Chen style is the original /oldest form of the art, having many explosive and coiling wrapping movements it is dynamic movement art and resembles the Ocean in its energy and flowing expression of power. Sifu Kelly received his Masters-Teaching certificate from Gao Han in 2007.

Yang Style is more serene like water in calm pond and is often taught to beginners in U.S. , evolved from Chen style techniques, it is relaxed throughout and called “Moving Meditation” by many.

Both of these arts are taught as Health and martial arts.

Aiki-jujutsu

Aikijutsu -the bujutsu from which all modern Judo, combat jujitsu, jiu-jitsu, and Aikido evolved; contains striking, joint manipulations, restraining ,throwing and grappling , as well as, weapons: sword, knife, short and long staff techniques. Students learn techniques in environment of mutual respect and can particpate in “randori “which is free form competition, introduced in 1960 by Professor Tomiki to maintain effectiveness of techniques. This sport like competition, like the Ultimate Fighting Championships, allows one to compete with safety rules and similar techniques and to improve by scoring or countering thus developing offensive and defensive skills. Master Kelly, 3rd Dan, earned his Black belt from Yoji Kondo and Karl Geis in 1982.
